Following reports of non performance, the Speaker of Ogun Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi had, during plenary on Tuesday, summoned the transition committee members of Ijebu Ode, Ado Odo, Odeda, Remo North and Ogun Waterside council areas to appear before the House.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Adekunbi said that the transition committee members should appear before the house committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy on Monday with reports of their performance in the last three months.
Members of the public have been commending the step taken by Ogun Assembly to assess the performances of the local government heads. This they said would bring the dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
The masses however appeal to the Assembly to summon all the 20 local government caretakers, saying almost all of them had failed in the discharge of their duties.
