Ogun Assembly approves 37 new LCDAs after amendment

Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the request of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun to create local council development areas in addition to the existing 20 local governments.

The house yesterday directed the clerk of the house to send a clean copy of the approved bill to Mr Governor for his assent.

Amendments made to the bill

Some of the amendment made to the bill included the change of  Abeokuta South East LCDA headquarters from Ijeun-Titun to Kemta-Idiaba; Sagamu Remo South headquarters from Sotubo to Ogijo.

Headquarters of Ifesowapo LCDA has beeen changed to Imodi-Mosan instead of Imodi and  Yemoji LCDA headquarters has been moved  from Ilese to Isanyin.

Also, the contentious Orileoko town has been retained in Remo and no more in Obafemi-Owode as earlier proposed.

The new LCDAs are to be funded by the state government.
