Buhari, where is the change?

By Dare Olawin

I once said Buhari was too old to handle the Nigeria of this 21st century, but his apologists wouldn't allow us to say the truth.

We are not in a military era, this is not the Nigeria of the 80s; this is not the Buhari of age 40+; this is the Nigeria of the social media. We need more than what Buhari have to make Nigeria a better place.

None of those shouting change in 2015 ever thought things would be this hard under Buhari. No single promise has been fulfilled 10 months after handover.

An Aboki okada rider was even condemning Buhari when I said Sai Baba, he said Baba no good, Baba no try. Why do you think he said that? The poor man spent two days at a filling station to buy fuel at N200/litre.

See what has been happening to our budget. Signing a budget has now become so difficult under this administration. It is one story one day; the executive versus the legislators.

I always laugh whenever some people say PDP spoiled Nigeria for 16 years; because they fail to realise that it was not the party, but the individuals that turned the nation upsidedown.

Think of it, many of these individuals are now in the APC; they are among those castigating PDP today. A good politician can come from a bad party while a bad politician can come from a good party.

Obasanjo, Atiku, Saraki, Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Amosun, Ngige, Smart Adeyemi and many others were once in the PDP. What were their contributions to Nigeria then? Ask them!

Politicians know Nigerians are gullible and that's why they won't hesitate to drop a party to join the reigning one. Look at Smart Adeyemi.

If Fayose decamps to APC today, millions of his enemies will start praising him. What a nation!

It is high time Nigerians stopped running after political parties; let's look at the individuals involved.

Buhari should change gear as Nigerians cannot afford to endure more hardship under a government that promised to give us change.

Nigerians never had it this bad.
