Ipokia people migrated from Ajase Ipo in Kwara State many years ago. They stayed in Oyo for a period of time before they moved to Isale Eko Lagos under late Oba Adenle (Olofin Ajagun).
When Oba Adenle died, his son, Oba Apoga was installed king. At that time, people from Benin Empire joined them and they did things in common. A dispute later came up between them on Obaship tussle and some of the people from Ajase Ipo decided to leave Isale Eko. Some of the royal members of the entourage left with Oduduwa crown in their custody.
They settled at ERIKITI near BADAGRY.
They installed Oba Olúpo Òlóló, a son of Adenle. He passed on there.
After the death of Olúpo Òlóló, some members of the royal family left ERIKITI to join their brothers and sisters who had earlier left ERIKITI.
They moved to a place called TUKURU. They installed the junior brother of Oba Olúpo Òlóló called Adebiyi Onitukuru as their Oba.
They later moved and settled at Idoniro here in Ipokia.
Idoniro is from Ilase down to Idofin, Ijusu where church Eleja is.
