Residents of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, were happy to witness a heavy downpour that greeted the metropolis on Tuesday.
The rain, which started around 3:15am, has been described by many as showers of blessing heralding the first rainy season in 2016.
Residents have been craving rain since February when they said the sun was too unbearable for human living.
There were believes that the days of extreme heat and dryness would be over now that the rains are here.
Some said the rain would bring back water into their wells and give them another opportunity to go back to farm.
Meanwhile, residents are warned in their own interest to desist from dumping refuse on waterways so as to prevent flooding.
