Nurudeen Oduntan emerges as new Ipokia youth leader

As what can be described as one of the freest and fairest locally conducted election in the history of Nigeria, Ipokia youths have turned out en masse to elect Mr Nurudeen Oduntan as the new Chairman of Ipokia Youth Development Council, IPYDC.

The much anticipated election held today at the King's palace, Ipokia, saw Oduntan coasting home to victory in a landslide.

He gulped 207 votes to defeat his closest rival, Akeem Kudeti, who polled 121 votes.

Announcing the result, the Chairman of Ipokia Youths Electoral Committee, Mr Rasaq Ojo, described the election as the first of its kind in the history of Ogun State, if not Nigeria.

He appreciated all who had contributed to the success of "the most peaceful election so far".

Youths in Ipokia went agog as the electoral committee chairman announced winners of the election.

Other winners in the election are: Waliu Adeniyi, Vice Chairman; Ganiu Saka, General Secretary; Elegbede Kolawole, Assistant General Secretary; Falilu Aliu, Treasurer; Dare Olawin, Publicity Secretary; Fagbohun Yusuf, Financial Secretary; Ishola Nuah, Auditor; Akinlade Rasheed, PRO 1; Salmon Sulaimon, PRO 2; Olabode Wasiu, Social Secretary and Adeoye Kafilat, Ladies Coordinator.
