A lawmaker in the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Ijebu North II State Constituency in Ogun State, Hon Oludare Kadiri, has reiterated his commitments to influence corporate organisations and different interest groups to empower his constituents in various vocations and  help facilitate resources for improved standard of living.

Kadiri stated this yesterday while distributing over 100 grinding machines, with the support of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), to beneficiaries, at an event attended by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, party leaders including Alhaji Abidoye Amosun,  the elder brother of the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Hon Tunde Sanusi among others at Ago-Iwoye.

The lawmaker urged the women folk in the state to continue supporting the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration's effort at ensuring improved standard of living for the women with a view to advancing their potentials to earn a decent living.

He disclosed that apart from other empowerment programmes he had earlier initiated, which included scholarship to indigent students, renovation of Ago-Iwoye Market, as well as other financial supports to aid trade and investment, the distribution of the free grinding machine was meant to make the women more self-reliant and to alleviate poverty in his constituency.

Earlier in his remarks,  Alhaji Amosun commended the lawmaker for considering the women in the  five wards of his constituency worthy of the empowerment,  stating that the initiative would ensure increased income for the  beneficiaries.

Amosun, while commending Kadiri for the good representation of his constituency, expressed optimistic that many more of his constituents would benefit from the good gesture.

In his remarks, Speaker Suraj Adekunbi  commended the residents of Ago-Iwoye for their supports, commitments and prayers to the present administration, describing Kadiri as an active lawmaker who had always canvassed for the interest of his people and had contributed to the successes of the 8th Legislature through quality contributions to motions and legislation processes.

Adekunbi, while admonishing residents to shun acts inimical to the successful electioneering process leading to the 2019 general elections, urged them to sustain the peaceful coexistence the state was known for.

The Speaker, who lauded Governor Amosun for his commitment in putting in place a formidable security network alongside massive infrastructural development and employment generation, assured that the State House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to enact more legislations for the advancement of all sectors of the State economy.
