The Super Eagles will be without one of their key players for the crunch clash with Egypt in Kaduna, with the defender struggling with groin problems.
Nigeria will be without Kenneth Omeruo for next week’s Africa Cup of Nations crucial encounter against Egypt.
Omeruo's club, Kasimpasa informed the Nigeria Football Federation that the defender is down with a groin injury which will rule him out for the next two weeks.
"Omeruo's injury and subsequent withdrawal from the Egypt games has been communicated to the coaches and the medics," Super Eagles administrator Dayo Enebi disclosed.
“The player is disappointed with his injury setback because he has been looking forward to this game with a lot of optimism.
“Expectedly, the coaches were also unhappy but they have wished him a quick recovery.”
Super Eagles must avoid defeat in Kaduna while hoping to get a result in Alexandria to stand a chance of reaching the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
